Volunteer Opportunities

Why Volunteers Matter

Every performance depends on hundreds of volunteer hours behind the scenes. Our volunteers contribute over 2,000 hours each year — chaperoning trips, feeding students, moving equipment, fitting uniforms, and running concessions — making the Crimson Corps possible. No experience is needed, and there’s a role for every schedule.

There’s a place for everyone. Below are the most common ways to help — sign up for one or several, and choose the seasons that fit your schedule.

Monday Night Bingo (ALL YEAR)

Monday Night Bingo is one of our biggest fundraisers, and parent volunteers are the key to its success!

From selling pull tabs, bingo cards, and gaming machines to helping guests throughout the evening, every volunteer makes a difference.

Whether you can help once or regularly, your time directly supports our band program while giving you a chance to meet other families and be part of a fun, energetic atmosphere. Many hands make light work, and we’d love to have you on the team!

FRIDAY NIGHT KETTLE CORN & SHIRTS (FALL)

Support the Nixa Band Boosters by volunteering at Friday night football games! Volunteers help sell our delicious kettle corn, along with Crimson Corps shirts, hats, and other band gear at our sales table and throughout the stands.

It’s a fun way to be part of the game-day experience, connect with other band families, and help raise funds that directly support our students and band program. Every volunteer hour makes a difference!

marching band props (Fall)

Behind every incredible marching band performance is a dedicated team of parent volunteers helping bring the show to life!

Our props team plays a vital role by setting up, moving, and loading performance props at football games and competitions.

No special skills are required—just a willingness to help and support our students. It’s a fun way to be part of the excitement, meet other band families, and make a lasting impact on the success of the Crimson Corps.

uniforms (fall & winter)

The Uniform Team helps our students look their best every time they perform.

Volunteers assist with organizing and distributing uniforms, making minor repairs, checking uniforms in and out, and ensuring everything is performance-ready throughout the season.

No sewing expertise is required—just a willingness to help! It’s a great behind-the-scenes role that has a big impact on the success and professionalism of our marching band.

hospitality (fall)

Our Hospitality Team helps keep our students fueled, refreshed, and feeling supported throughout the marching season.

Volunteers assist with serving meals, organizing snacks and drinks, and creating a welcoming environment at football games, competitions, and special events. It’s a rewarding way to care for our band family and ensure our students have what they need to perform their best.

Whether you can help once or throughout the season, your support makes a lasting impact!

bus parents (fall)

Bus parents play an important role in supporting our students and helping trips run smoothly.

As a bus parent, you’ll help chaperone students during travel, assist with organization and supervision, and provide an extra layer of support for our directors and students.

It’s a great way to be part of the band experience, share in the excitement of competitions and events, and create memories while supporting our students on the road.

fundraising

Fundraising is essential to providing our students with an outstanding band experience, and we need creative, enthusiastic parents to help make it happen!

Whether you enjoy brainstorming new fundraising ideas, helping organize events, setting up, promoting activities, or lending a hand behind the scenes, there’s a place for everyone.

Your time and talents help create opportunities that directly benefit every member of the band, and together we can make each fundraiser a success.

xhibition 9/12

Hosting our marching band exhibition takes a huge team effort, and parent volunteers are what make this event possible!

From helping with parking and the gate to assisting with concessions, field access, hospitality, and more, there are many ways to get involved.

Whether you can volunteer for a short shift or help throughout the event, your support helps create a successful experience for visiting bands, our community, and our students. Join us in making this a memorable event for everyone!

band banquet

The end-of-season band banquet is a special opportunity to celebrate our students, recognize their hard work, and reflect on an amazing year.

Parent volunteers help make this event memorable by assisting with planning, decorations, setup, food, and keeping everything running smoothly.

Whether you can help behind the scenes or on the day of the event, your support helps create a meaningful celebration for our students and the entire band family.

logistics

The Logistics Team is the behind-the-scenes crew that keeps our band moving!

Volunteers help load and unload the hospitality trailer, move equipment, assist with props, organize supplies, and handle details that help performances and events run smoothly.

This team is essential to making sure our students and staff have what they need, when they need it. If you enjoy being active, working as part of a team, and seeing the show come together, this is a great way to make a big impact!

Before You Volunteer

All volunteers review and acknowledge the Nixa Band Boosters Code of Conduct each school year. Some roles may also require a background check through Nixa Public Schools. https://www.nixapublicschools.net/our-district/programs/volunteer-program/volunteers-in-public-schools
